Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and customer-oriented Retail Sales associate to join our team in a dynamic pet store environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing excellent customer service and a strong ability to handle transactions accurately. This role involves engaging with customers, processing sales, and ensuring a pleasant shopping experience and being a pet lover is definitely a plus/previous pet experience.
Duties:
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system efficiently to process transactions.
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers and assisting with inquiries.
- Perform cashiering duties, including cash handling and balancing the cash register at the end of shifts.
- Engage in upselling techniques to promote additional products and enhance sales.
- Conduct product demonstrations to educate customers about new items or promotions.
- Assist in merchandising efforts by organizing product displays and ensuring shelves are stocked.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the checkout area and store displays.
- Utilize basic math skills for accurate transaction processing and retail math calculations.
- Communicate effectively with team members and management regarding inventory needs and customer feedback.
Experience:
- Previous experience in retail sales or pet store environments is preferred.
- Familiarity with POS systems is essential for efficient transaction processing.
- Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply, as communication with diverse customers is valued.
- Strong phone etiquette is important for handling customer inquiries over the phone.
- Knowledge of stocking procedures, merchandising strategies, and product placement will be beneficial.
