Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and customer-oriented Retail Sales associate to join our team in a dynamic pet store environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing excellent customer service and a strong ability to handle transactions accurately. This role involves engaging with customers, processing sales, and ensuring a pleasant shopping experience and being a pet lover is definitely a plus/previous pet experience.

Duties:

  • Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system efficiently to process transactions.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers and assisting with inquiries.
  • Perform cashiering duties, including cash handling and balancing the cash register at the end of shifts.
  • Engage in upselling techniques to promote additional products and enhance sales.
  • Conduct product demonstrations to educate customers about new items or promotions.
  • Assist in merchandising efforts by organizing product displays and ensuring shelves are stocked.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the checkout area and store displays.
  • Utilize basic math skills for accurate transaction processing and retail math calculations.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and management regarding inventory needs and customer feedback.

Experience:

  • Previous experience in retail sales or pet store environments is preferred.
  • Familiarity with POS systems is essential for efficient transaction processing.
  • Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply, as communication with diverse customers is valued.
  • Strong phone etiquette is important for handling customer inquiries over the phone.
  • Knowledge of stocking procedures, merchandising strategies, and product placement will be beneficial.
