The New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development is seeking individuals on a Temporary Basis in its rental subsidy programs, including federal Section 8 and Emergency Housing Voucher programs and the local NYC 15/15 program.
Responsibilities include:
- Review and rental subsidy applications to determine eligibility
- Schedule, conduct, or issue briefings to clients
- Prepare and review contract, leasing, and inspection documents
- Manage and prioritize workload using internal reports and other tools
- Communicate with clients and landlords (virtually, by mail, by email, and by phone)
- Review and process annual recertifications, interim changes in household information, terminations of rental subsidy, and transfers of subsidy
- Collect, organize, and file relevant documents in electronic records
- Navigate and utilize various data systems, including federal and state databases and in-house systems and reports
- Data Entry
- Prepare and send appropriate correspondence, track responses
- Attend mandatory trainings and internal and external meeting
- Computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe
- Communication skills (both orally and in writing)
